Kapuso-Schärding Shares a Vision with Life Xtenders

Kapuso Schaerding (KS), a family foundation started by Lily Part and her daughter Margot as its president shares a vision with Life Xtenders (LX) to sustainably help needy children, their families and their living environment. All their activities and projects are aimed improving the ives of children and their families through good development work to change over the long term.

KS representative Lily Part chose LX to partner with this foreign organization because of LX’s consistent humanitarian efforts in helping the children and their families during the typhoon that hit the Philippines specifically Northern Iloilo. Life Xtenders (LX), is a non-profit organization volunteer support group in Iloilo City which provides training, mentoring and coaching of different target groups, LX started as a volunteer support group in Iloilo City which had its soft launching through a Free Verse Poetry Reading at the defunct Robb's Coffee, Urban Inn Bldg., La Paz, Iloilo City on January 6, 2012. At first, LX is aimed at helping young professionals who are at the peak of their career or onset of their career experience physical or terminal illness, emotional turmoil, love and relationship issues, family difficulties or simply heartbroken, in distress or depressed. As the founder of Life Xtenders, I coined the term “Life Xtenders” after I learned that my close friend, Jasmin Vargas has a tumor in the brain. This is where the concept of helping friends in times of difficulty come in. I was there to look after and give moral support before the operation, and assure her that everything will be okay. With God’s grace and Jasmin’s family and friends’ prayers and love, she was able to survive the surgery. She gave a testimony during the Jan.6 soft launching. At present, she is happy to get back to work and enjoy quality time with her family and loved ones. This is just one story that LX wishes to send across humanity. LX expanded when typhoon struck the country. It was during this time that LX initially planned to distribute relief goods to Zarraga. The plan gave birth to the FB event page entitled “LET'S HELP REBUILD THE LIVES OF OUR FELLOW ILONGGOS” at https://www.facebook.com/events/428414307259867/. NGO like Artistikong Kabataan Philippines, Inc. (AKP) led by its President Anna Karina Jardin, KSearch Asia Consulting, Inc. (KSearch) and private individuals have signified their intention to help us and they did. There was unity amidst diversity and distance. All those who communicated with me didn’t want any politicking. All of them had one thing to ask of us: PLEASE HELP THEM URGENTLY. And so we did. Our Beneficiaries Around 2000 families were given relief goods since we started our relief operations namely: Brgy. Man-it, Passi, Brgy. Compo, San Enrique, Batad, Iloilo, Purok Ilawud, Barotac Viejo, Sitio Butlog Gamay, Punting, Bagoisi, Pan de Azucar and neighboring sitios Proper A, B and C, Brgy. Polopinya, Concepcion, Tamis-ac Elementary School, Concepcion, St. Mary Anawin of God Institute , Concepcion, Tuburan, Poblacion, Concepcion, Brgy. Carida, Brgy. San Vicente, Don Mariano Memorial School, Tapaz, Capiz and Barrio Sta. Ana, Estancia and Barrio Malbog. Through the help of Ora International Austria and Kapuso Schaerding in partnership with Pauline Physithera (St. Paul’s Iloilo alumni), LX was able to help rebuild the 29 homes in Bagoisi, Pan de Azucar. Kapuso Schaerding did not stop from there. It vowed to continuously collaborate with LX in helping our fellow Filipinos especially the children.

It is Kapuso Schaerding shared vision of prioritizing children amidst calamities and tragedies with Life Xtenders that seals the partnership.
